New films to come!

Hey! It’s Outback Tom here, and I’ve just returned from a huge filming trip back home in the Kimberley region of Western Australia with Outback Grandad.

Not only was this such a great adventure back home, but it gave Grandad and I the opportunity to film so many videos, and not just the usual short, sharp videos, but longer, more in-depth films about life in the Kimberley.

Here what the expect…

Outback Gardening

Outback Tom and Grandad show off their Kimberley garden, harvesting various ingredients for a range of different dishes. Although the Kimberley region is one of the hottest in Australia, working with the seasons help sustain and maintain a busy, healthy and beautiful garden. This film is full of colour, and will hopefully be some inspiration for you to hop back in the garden.

Pork Dumplings - Bush Style

One of Outback Tom’s favourite feeds in the city is Pork dumplings! He usually heads to China Town in Sydney to get a good feed of Pork Dumplings and rice, so he’s whipped up his own version in the bush. Making dumpling wrappers from scratch, and a delicious pork mince mixture, expect this to be a beautiful feed.

Australia’s Remotest Op Shop

Nestled in the small town of Wyndham, one of the WA’s most northern towns, is probably one of Australia’s remotest op shop, filled with trinkets, antiques, memorabilia and range of random and interesting items! Outback Tom and Grandad pop in to see what treasure they can find.

The Bower Bird Nest

The Great Bowerbird is a common species of bird in northern Australia, and it’s their nest that catch the attention of Outback Tom and Grandad. Using twigs and various branches, the bower birds built a dome shaped nest, and fill it with small treasures, like stones, glass, jewellery etc.

This technique is used to attract the female bower bird, the more treasure, the better…kind of! Let’s see what they find in an old abandoned nest.

Breakfast In A Can

Canned food, not what you usually look forward to. But Grandad has utilised a technique that helps cook your OWN breakfast in a can, which is also a good way to recycle. Think Bacon, shallots, capsicum, tomato, egg and just about any other leftovers you might have in the fridge, all cooked in an old can, this is a fun way to cook a feed.

Recycle Hot Plate

People from the bush can always appreciate a good hotplate used for cooking in the bush. Now you’ve got the basic ones, like, just a piece of steel for example. Then the level above that is the same, but has some legs attached. Well using recycled materials, Grandad has built a briefcase style fold out hotplate, and let’s say, this thing looks fancy. Join Outback Tom and Grandad as they go over it and cook a feed while they’re at it.
